and maintaining quality of life of carers and those for whom they care. We provide
a flexible and innovative support service that responds to the individual needs
of carers.

What is Respite?
Caring can demand a lot of patience, energy and time. Respite enables carers
to have some time out to take care of their own needs.
The Carer Respite Centre has support workers who can visit you in your own
home and work with you to explore and plan for your respite needs.
Are you a Carer?
There are over 6000 younger and older carers in the Barwon South Western
Region.
A carer can be a family member or a friend, undertaking a voluntary role of
providing care for a person who is:
- Frail aged
- Chronically ill
- Terminally ill
Or someone who has:
- Dementia
- Physical disability
- Behavioural disorder
- Neurological disorder
- SensoryiImpairment
- Mental illness
What does the Carer Respite Centre offer?
The Carer Respite Centre can support you with:
- Information
- Assistance to organise respite
- Someone to "lend an ear"
- Flexible respite
- Developing long term respite plans
- Resources for carers
- Referrals to appropriate service providers
- Assistance in accessing emergency respite
- Assistance in accessing residental respite accommodation
- Organising a holiday or a break for yourself and/or the person you care
for
